I came up to northern California (from the upper deserts) to attend Sacramento State, where I received my BA in English Literature and both an Early Childhood Teaching Credential and an Elementary Teaching Credential.
This is my 26th year teaching 2nd Grade here at OLA. Before I taught here at OLA, I taught 1st grade at Our Lady of Fatima (now St. Joseph's).
I love teaching second grade because the children come to me reading and excited about school. I also feel blessed to be able to help my second graders prepare to receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, both important events on their faith journey.
I was blessed to be able to stay home for ten years with my children when they were young. My children are now grown and through school. My daughter Anne is also a teacher, but she is taking a break from the classroom to be home with her son Reid, age four years, and her daughter Karis, eighteen months. My son Alex is enjoying his two main interests: running (working at Fleet Feet) and the fine arts (painting in his studio at home).
My husband Gary and I enjoy running, camping, hiking, car shows, and being with family. I spend summers and vacations with my family, especially my daughter and grandchildren.
I am forever counting my blessings!
