BA in Liberal Studies with an Earth Science Concentration, and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, from Sacramento State University.
The 2014-2015 school year will be my tenth year devoted to Catholic education, and my 5th year teaching 3rd Grade. Prior to my years at OLA, beginning as a student, I spent many years in Catholic schools. I attended Holy Spirit School in Fairfield, California for eight years, and after earning my teaching credential, I spent five years teaching 5th Grade at Saint Joseph’s School in Auburn. I was blessed to be able to stay home for six years to raise my two sons who, when they began their education at St. Mary School, allowed me to have the opportunity to return to the classroom.
I chose Catholic education, and my position at Our Lady of the Assumption School, because nothing seems more natural to me than being able to bring Christ into the classroom in everyday matters. I value being able to have the freedom to educate the whole child; body, mind and spirit. OLA is a wonderful close-knit community that embodies the teachings of Christ in its very atmosphere, and it is a nurturing place. There is no other place that I would rather work. One cannot be more fortunate than to be blessed to spend their day with children.
