While at Santa Clara I played volleyball and soccer. I was also a graduate assistant coach for the volleyball program. I began teaching part-time at Queen of the Apostles in 1983. In 1984, I accepted a full-time position at St. Frances Cabrini where I taught until 1986. My husband and I moved to Sacramento in 1986, and I began teaching in the Catholic Diocese. I began teaching at OLA in 2009. During my 31 years, I have taught PE, art appreciation, algebra, third grade, and this is my 21st year in first grade.
I have been happily married for 29 years to my husband Phil. We have 3 children: Chris, 27 who is doing pancreatic cancer research at the University of Texas Southwestern, Taryn, 25, who is the Athletic Director and PE teacher here at OLA, and Steven, 19, who is a freshmen and playing soccer at the University of Washington. I also coach volleyball at St. Francis High School. This year marks my 25th season. I love to travel, cook, exercise, and spend time with my family.
I love being able to bring my faith to the children and to see their excitement when they learn something new. Teaching is what I love to do.
