Our Lady of the Assumption School is a special place where faith, education and community come together. At OLA we challenge our students to grow and develop spiritually, intellectually, and socially. Our purpose is to prepare students for a college preparatory high school while also instilling in them a sense that they are a part of something bigger than themselves. Our motto is Hands to Serve, Hearts to Love, and we foster in our students a responsibility to love and serve God, others, and themselves. We are a Eucharistic community, tied by our faith in Christ; a school community, bound by our traditions of academic excellence; and a family community, united in a spirit of love and togetherness. Community is the hallmark of the OLA experience. We have a wonderful faculty and staff that is deeply committed to our students, and we have parents, parishioners, and a pastor who do amazing things to support our school.
It is an honor and privilege to serve the OLA Parish and School community. I graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1990, worked as a technical writer in the Bay Area for a few years, and then became a teacher 1995. Our family moved to the Sacramento region in 1999 where I taught in Roseville public schools for 6 years. After completing graduate work for an administrative credential, I blended my love for my Catholic faith with my vocation as an educator and began my journey as a Catholic School administrator. I was blessed to land at OLA in 2006. I took a two year hiatus from OLA between 2017-2019, serving as a regional director for Catholic Schools in the Sacramento Diocese. In the summer of 2019 I returned home to OLA.
I am the proud and lucky father of two daughters, Katherine and Christine. I believe that a Catholic education truly teaches the whole child and is a lifelong blessing for those fortunate enough to receive it. I invite you to learn more about our wonderful school and parish community.

My name is Cori Llopis and I've had a passion for teaching my whole life. I received my Early Childhood Education in the Sonoma County Area where I grew up. I was lucky enough to have met my husband, Jaime Llopis, of almost 30 years, in Sonoma county as well. I taught Pre-k for 11 years while he began his work in the athletic department at Jesuit High School in 1991. It was then that I retired and raised our boys. We watched proudly as they graduated in '13 & '14 from JHS.
I am grateful to be back and to be a part of the kinder rich program here at OLA.
We have always been surrounded by the Jesuit community and have felt blessed for it. We look forward to expanding that circle of friendship here at OLA.

While at Santa Clara I played volleyball and soccer. I was also a graduate assistant coach for the volleyball program. I began teaching part-time at Queen of the Apostles in 1983. In 1984, I accepted a full-time position at St. Frances Cabrini where I taught until 1986. My husband and I moved to Sacramento in 1986, and I began teaching in the Catholic Diocese. I began teaching at OLA in 2009. During my 31 years, I have taught PE, art appreciation, algebra, third grade, and this is my 21st year in first grade.
I have been happily married for 29 years to my husband Phil. We have 3 children: Chris, 27 who is doing pancreatic cancer research at the University of Texas Southwestern, Taryn, 25, who is the Athletic Director and PE teacher here at OLA, and Steven, 19, who is a freshmen and playing soccer at the University of Washington. I also coach volleyball at St. Francis High School. This year marks my 25th season. I love to travel, cook, exercise, and spend time with my family.
I love being able to bring my faith to the children and to see their excitement when they learn something new. Teaching is what I love to do.

I believe in Catholic education because I am a product of Catholic Education and appreciate my parents giving me that opportunity. I have taught for over thirty years and there is no place I would rather be than teaching fifth grade here at Our Lady of the Assumption School.
I have been married for twenty-five years, and we have two children. Our daughter is a Senior at Loyola Marymount and our son is a Senior at UCLA. I feel that OLA gave my children the spiritual and academic foundation they needed to be successful adults.

I am Mr. Lagomarsino, and I am the Athletic Director and PE Teacher here at OLA. I attended OLA from Kindergarten to 8th grade. At OLA I played all the sports available to me, and OLA is where I learned to love sports. After OLA, I attended Jesuit High School where I played multiple sports, but I excelled at rugby. Rugby allowed me to get a scholarship to attend Idaho State University. I was able to play rugby at an advanced level as well as improve my knowledge of Physical Education. I am very passionate about physical education and sports. I use that passion to help motivate and improve OLA students' knowledge and physical abilities. I began working at OLA in 2018 as the First Grade Teachers Assistant. The next year I was hired to be the Athletic Director and PE Teacher. OLA has a long and successful history in the area of sports. I plan on improving OLA’s athletic program even more so, during my time here at OLA.
OLA is a wonderful community to grow up in. If you have any questions or just would like more information on OLA’s Athletic Program please feel free to email me at Lagomarsino@olaparish.net.

Dear OLA community,
I am humbled and honored to introduce myself to you as the 8th grade home room and language arts teacher. I arrive at OLA entering my 13th year as a diocesan teacher and 20th year as an educator. I am so excited to become a part of this community, both as a teacher and member of the parish. Joining me on my new journey are my bride, AnaLisa, our two boys Andrew (a junior at UNR), Cameron (a senior at Rio) and our daughter, who is currently a student at OLA. I look forward to sharing my love for all things English with the students and becoming a member of the team at OLA who educates our students to give their “Hands to Serve, Hearts to Love.”
Sincerely,

Math – Grades 5-8
mccormick@olaparish.net
My name is Casey McCormick and I am very happy to teach 5-8th Accelerated Math at OLA.
I am 100% a product of and committed to Catholic education. As a child, I attended St. Mel school for all 9 years of grammar school before choosing Loretto High School. Upon graduation I moved to Boston where I continued my Catholic education, receiving both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Boston College. While a student at BC, I fought for the right to do my student teaching in a Catholic grammar school because I knew without a doubt that that was the direction I wanted for my career. I began my teaching career in the Boston suburbs teaching 5th grade before returning home to Sacramento. Since my return in 2004, I have taught in a variety of roles at Holy Family and then Holy Trinity before coming to OLA. It was when I became a full time math teacher that I truly found the passion that drives me.
Simply put, I believe I radiate a passion for mathematics as well as for middle school children. I am a lifelong learner who actively seeks out professional development and new ways to engage children in learning, and more importantly, loving mathematics. I am a member of the world’s greatest PLC - a collection of math teachers from around the country and world who collaborate daily via Twitter and blogs. Through these interactions with the most extraordinary teachers, I have learned and grown a great deal. I believe all children have what it takes to succeed in math and it is our job as educators to instill a love of learning in them.

I’d rather be here than anywhere else. This is HOME! My five children all attended OLA School with the last graduating in 1993. They have given me nine grandchildren (best part)!
I was hired by Msgr. O’Conner in 1987 as cook/housekeeper for the Rectory. I became the Parish Secretary/Wedding Coordinator in 1990 and remained the cook for Fr. McAllister until his death in 2005. I worked as Secretary/Wedding coordinator for Fr. Brendan McKeefry until 2009. I “retired” for two years to move up the coast, but returned in 2011, and here I am back cooking for Fr. Eduino.
