The Country Fair is an annual event organized by Our Lady of the Assumption School for the enjoyment of many. OLA parishioners, school families, and the Carmichael community have enjoyed this special weekend festival. It is truly a community event like no other. The games, entertainment, food, contests, and prizes make this a uniquely special weekend that provides fun for children, teens, parents, and grandparents. Attending this fair is like going back to a place and time where community and good old-fashioned fun bring people together!
The first Country Fair was organized by parishioners and held on September 17, 1950. With the help of numerous volunteers, they began a tradition of successful Country Fairs for many years to come. In 1994, the Parent Teacher Group of OLA School assumed the responsibility of coordinating the event, but the workforce is still comprised of volunteers from the entire parish community. While changes have occurred over the years, the theme of family fun, wholesome entertainment, and delicious food remains unaltered.
