Preschool And Transitional Kindergarten Parent Testimonials

I have been in the field of education for the better part of my career. I have had parents entrust their children’s learning and safety to me and never really understood the sheer magnitude of that responsibility until I began to look into my daughter’s education. While many may not see preschool as important as the rest of their child’s education, my husband and I feel that it is the foundational step in a person’s social development. Our daughter’s time at OLA has provided her the opportunity to learn what it is to be in a group, how to share with others both physical objects and thoughts, and to follow directions from others. It has also helped her spread her wings and learn who she is as an individual.

We had her in a different preschool prior to bringing her to OLA and it was not the best experience. We can tell how much she is loved and cared for at OLA based upon her drawings at home of her teachers and friends, her desire to share stories about her life with her teachers, and her desire to go to school; even on the weekends. We have had some family struggles with illness and Ms. Patty has been a rock for not only my daughter but our entire family.

Additionally, the Principal, the Father, and all of the staff have been so warm and welcoming that even though this is our first year at OLA we feel that we are a part of a family, which is what we have hoped for since deciding to pursue a Catholic education for our daughter.

One of my favorite quotes is 'Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide to forever have your heart go walking outside your body'. My husband and I are so grateful and trusting in having Ms. Patty and the teachers at OLA have our heart!!

We can't say enough good things about OLA's preschool staff. While we expected a well-structured and organized curriculum, we got so much more! From the moment you walk into the preschool, you can tell that you are in a loving and nurturing environment. The level of care, attention, and breadth of expertise that Ms. Patty and her dedicated staff have provided have been nothing short of exceptional. Our son has truly blossomed over this past year in the OLA environment. The school has been a blessing to our family and we are forever grateful for the experience.

To my husband and I, OLA is not just a school; it is truly a warm and inviting family for which we are honored and thrilled to be a part of.

Since his very first day of school last Fall, our son has loved going to class and being with his “little friends” as well as Ms. Katherine, Ms. Kendra, and Mrs. Patty. One of the greatest benefits of OLA Preschool, as a result of the fabulous instruction by Ms. Katherine, Ms. Kendra, and Mrs. Patty, is that the learning does not stop in the classroom. Since starting OLA, our son has not only soaked up academics, exciting tidbits of information, and a love of reading, he has taken home with him new and improved manners, sharing skills, a heightened sense of curiosity, in addition to a new found joy for cleaning up after himself as a result of the “Clean-Up” song.

OLA Preschool is not just a place where our son goes twice a week to learn the alphabet and numbers, OLA is a second home where the teachers truly care about their pupils and invest themselves in their student’s all-around education, including instilling in them a basis for their growth in their faith in God and Catholic teachings.

OLA Preschool has been a wonderful experience for our entire family, and we so look forward to watching our son grow through his years at OLA.

OLA Preschool is the best thing that has ever happened to our girls Madison and Mackenzie! The teachers and staff are so gracious, patient, and kind. I am greatly appreciative for the amount of individual attention they give to each child to make them feel comfortable in a new environment. Our girls are growing by leaps and bounds with new knowledge, and spirituality. OLA Preschool has been such a great experience for our family, and we couldn't be happier.

- K. Terry (2013-14)

We are delighted with the program and staff at OLA's preschool. It is very loving and nurturing academic and social environment. The whole school is very warm and welcoming. The kids are really excelling and look forward to going to school. Deciding on a preschool was tough decision, but we have been very happy with our choice and would recommend OLA.

- J. Rockenstein (2013-14)

I love the Preschool at OLA. The classes are small enough that each child gets that one on one attention that is necessary at such a young age. I love the fact that the children are taught to be responsible for specific duties as well as the class having such a structured time for teaching and play time together. There is love from the minute you walk in to the minute my child leaves.

We couldn't be happier with OLA Preschool. It is such a nurturing, loving, and positive environment. Our son looks forward to attending school, and we are amazed at how much he has grown and developed in his short time at OLA Preschool.

The best investment that we have ever made for our daughter was to send her to Our Lady of the Assumption School and Parish. We always tell family and friends that “It is the best bill we receive each month”! Our daughter transferred to Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School in Preschool 1 and is now currently in Preschool 2. Our daughter had previously completed roughly six months of preschool in a smaller school when we decided that we would like to explore other educational opportunities. We hoped for a faith based education, a small class room size, and a school that excelled academically. A school with a sense of community, school pride, and where all students are known by name. The smaller class size enables the teachers to actually teach to each student’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as the spirituality of OLA not only enriches their minds, but also their souls. These values are making our kids the kind of people this planet needs right now, and in the future. After two years of attending OLA, our daughter is thriving, and we are very happy with our decision. OLA has exceeded all of our expectations and we honor the mantra of “Hands to Serve, Hearts to Love”.
