Improving Student Learning

Diocesan elementary and secondary schools are accredited by both the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). WCEA is a private education accrediting agency established under the sponsorship of the Bishops of the Catholic (Arch) Dioceses of California. WASC is the organization that accredits all colleges and universities as well as public and private secondary schools.

During the 2013 – 2014 school year, Our Lady of the Assumption School underwent a review by WCEA and WASC. A visiting committee spent three days on campus reviewing Our Lady of the Assumption’s Self Study. The committee visited classrooms, held interviews with students, parents, teachers, and staff, and investigated written evidence of responses to the WCEA criteria. In the committee’s final report the following were just a few of the Stellar Accomplishments noted:
