Buddy Program

In an effort to cultivate a family atmosphere, and nurture kindness and the personal development of each child, Our Lady of the Assumption School has a buddy class program in place. Each student is assigned a buddy for the school year. This creates friendships that bond them closely with each other and the school community. The program instills in the younger children a sense of belonging and knowledge that they have an older student they can confidently turn to for support. The older children develop a sense of responsibility and positive role modeling. Our students love being connected and enjoy the special moments that they share together.

Buddy classes sit with each other at Mass each month and join together to do a variety of activities. Some examples include; the Kindergarten and 4th grade Harvest Picnic, the 2nd and 6th grade Easter Egg hunt, reading, crafts and excursions.
